A ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’-Themed House in Texas Swashbuckles Onto the Market for $650K

Captain Sparrow (played by Johnny Depp), the nimble-witted hero of the fantasy film franchise, would be impressed by the waves this unique property has already made.

“We didn’t anticipate this much publicity, but it has been pretty fun,” says listing agent Ryan Ward, of RW Properties. “I helped the seller buy the home about 10 years or so ago. It didn’t look like that before he bought it. He’s a single, bachelor guy, who is obsessed with that movie and loves everything about Jack Sparrow.”

The 3,153-square-foot, nautical-style interior has been transformed into something straight out of a movie set. The home was originally built in 1940.

While the props are all negotiable, Ward says the seller is also open to removing the items for any landlubbers who aren’t fans of the Disney movie.

“It will certainly take the right person to buy this house,” Ward acknowledges. “Unfortunately, Plano just outlawed Airbnbs here two weeks ago. We had some people calling, looking to see if they could buy it and rent it out—but unfortunately not.”

The three-bedroom home features a two-story living room with a boat-themed “deck,” complete with a pirate climbing the ropes overhead. Exposed beams wrapped in rolled fabric resemble the sails of a ship.

In other rooms, helms or ship steering wheels line the walls, which are paneled to mimic the boat’s interior cabin.

A media room has another “pirate” trapped behind bars.

Since purchasing the home, the seller has made a treasure trove of tasteful updates.

“He recently added a two-car garage and carport as well as the large game room with air conditioning,” Ward says. “All of the upgrades are quality. There are hardwood floors throughout. There is a two-person, electric sauna and even a six-person shower.”

The primary bedroom is situated on the lower level, and there are two more bedrooms upstairs.
