Prestigious US audio brand McIntosh has launched a new Home Theater Receiver for anyone who wants to get “the best possible surround sound from their movies.” The McIntosh MHT300 Home Theater Receiver was announced today in a press release from the NY-based company and offers Dolby Atmos 7.2 channel home theater performance with what sounds like enough power to shake a home cinema to its foundations.

The MHT300 can deliver between 120 – 150W of power to every connected speaker, with all seven channels being driven. The company claims every explosion, car chase, and high-speed fighter jet flyby will be faithfully reproduced with full power pumped out of every speaker. In terms of video, the MHT300 can support up to 8K/60Hz and 4K/120Hz across all four HDMI inputs and one HDMI output, producing a picture to match the sound.

McIntosh says that the MHT300 has been created to provide unparalleled sound, but it’s also designed to be customizable and expandable. Individual amplifier modules can be configured in various ways to suit any specific speaker configuration. Additional external amplifiers can be connected to power the included Height 1 and Height 2 audio outputs, turning the MHT300 into a 7.2.4 home theater receiver. Dirac Live Room Correction enables users to finesse the system’s sound by adjusting the audio output to work with the unique acoustics of their personal home theater space.

“Considering the increase in video streaming services over the last decade, we are excited to share our latest innovation in home theater with our customers for them to better enjoy their entertainment in the comfort of their home,” said McIntosh President Charlie Randall.

As you’d expect from the iconic McIntosh brand, the MHT300 includes all the…
